About
Roshi Kamdar is a creative consultant, curator, and interior designer whose extraordinary career spans art, design, and cultural consulting. Born in Iran and raised in California, Roshi’s path is a tapestry of global influences and unique experiences that have shaped her refined vision for creating spaces that resonate deeply on both personal and cultural levels.
Her journey began with studies in political science and law, but her passion for design led her to a role in real estate with Sotheby’s in Los Angeles, where she gained expertise in sales, staging, and the art of spatial presentation. During the 2008 economic downturn, she pivoted to managing her then-husband’s opera career, taking on the roles of agent, manager, and producer. This position required coordinating performances, negotiating contracts, building strategic relationships, and creating high-profile engagements. In this role, she collaborated with renowned music labels like Sony, worked alongside icons such as Oscar de la Renta, and attended prestigious events like the Met Gala. This immersion in the world of high art and luxury cultivated a profound appreciation for how spaces and curated experiences shape emotional and memorable moments.
Roshi’s extensive travels through China, Japan, Iran, Lebanon, Israel, Australia, South America, South Africa, Europe, and the U.S. have further enriched her worldview, shaping not only her design philosophy but also her understanding of people and cultures. Each journey expanded her network and connections, enhancing her vision of how spaces and experiences intersect to create meaningful, lasting impressions.
Her collaborations include respected brands and institutions like Value Retail, SoHo House, the Royal Academy, Tate Museum, and Four Seasons Hotels. As an ambassador of art and culture for Value Retail, she crafted partnerships that seamlessly blended luxury and culture. Her commitment to philanthropy is reflected in her leadership of Foreign Sisters for Cancer Research UK and her dedication to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where she cycled 130 kilometers in America’s Most Beautiful Ride in Lake Tahoe to fundraise.
In 2019, Roshi founded Roshi Gallery in London’s Little Venice, introducing an innovative “At Home Gallery” concept where clients could experience art, furniture, and design objects in an authentic, lived-in setting. Supported by sponsorships from brands in wine, fashion, and sustainability, the gallery hosted exhibitions that highlighted emerging designers and artisans and was celebrated by Architectural Digest for its unique approach.
During the pandemic, Roshi expanded her work into interior design in Los Angeles, refining her ability to craft spaces that embody both personal style and cultural depth. Now based in Lisbon, she continues her work through Roshi.co, collaborating with architects, interior designers, and artists worldwide. Her projects range from refined residential interiors to cultural brand experiences, all driven by her belief that design transcends aesthetics to create spaces of connection, inspiration, and memory. With a life steeped in art, culture, and creative collaborations, Roshi brings elegance, depth, and a touch of the extraordinary to every project she undertakes.
