JOURNEY

With her entrepreneurial passion for bringing together communities of creatives and sharing learning from different cultures, Roshi Kamdar founded her company ROSHI in 2019 to bring a new aesthetic to the worlds of interiors and the arts.
Kamdar has extensive experience in business development, devising art and culture programs in retail spaces, as well as real estate experience, using her passion for interior design to help buyers view spaces in a new light. Along with her history of working with fashion brands and PR knowledge, her creative and artistic side, and her history of working with furniture makers and artists, Kamdar realised that to achieve a harmonious environment, the key lay within the equilibrium of furniture, decorative crafts and art in the living space.
To this end, drawing on a raft of ethereal inspiration from Japanese minimalism to creative venues such as Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge to artists working with bold colours, she decided to create a company that provides end-to-end interior solutions. This involved working with designers to create bespoke furniture for homes that complement an art collection and is balanced by tasteful individual decorative pieces, such as vases, bowls, and wall hangings.
Originally from Iran and raised in LA, Kamdar has travelled the globe over the past x years where she would spend up to six weeks at a time in different global cities, embracing their culture and learning about the crafts particular to that area.

She regularly visits craft and art fairs and explores local markets and antique shops around the world, meeting new creatives and forming partnerships to build a community of designers, artists, and crafts people with whom she works. This also involves visiting studios to dig deep into their stories, so she can share the background of these crafts people with her discerning clients who seeks to know the stories behind the works.

Kamdar is a consultant lecturer at Sotheby’s Institute and has appeared on a variety of expert panels, including LAPADA’s talks programme.
